A decade in Social Media

Social Media,It’s been a decade since I have been  on the online space ,officially part of various social media platform. The oldest being the social networking site  and The most recent being Snapchat. And in between  part of various other platforms which did not survive too long to be part of the decade evolution.

In this  past decade the platforms that I have been part of ,are Facebook and  twitter.Twitter took over my Interest ,because  of interactions between the people who you thought you wouldn’t be accessible to Facebook for having  different friend circle as part of a platform.while enjoying the best of both the worlds .I Jumped into WordPress as a blogger, blogging my experiences of life and experiences worth sharing . It then summed up my life   as WTF !! WordPress,Twitter and Facebook .

But, Wait ! Then Instagram took over as soon as Mobile cameras became the most handy camera’s of our time.Messaging became more convenient through WhatsApp and the online world evolved .Each applications becoming a mirror application of one another. Trying to be the one stop app. But,yet we like our apps for their own reasons.

I have been surviving on so many platforms. and the reason, I believe is the personality each of the apps portrays . My  Facebook friends won’t be interested in blogging articles or my Instagramers won’t like “thePhotography element missing from my photos of the picture perfect landscapes around the world.

The platforms that  I am part of enhances my personality perceive me Unconsciously in the following ways below:

Twitter-An intellectual/Influencer

Facebook-Anti Social

WordPress -A Critic

WhatsApp-Can’t talk WhatsApp only too busy to make and take  calls.

Instagram -A Photographer

LinkedIn-The  networker.

But,Each of these platforms tells me one thing.

That my friends circle too should  also be split into  different groups! Imagine having only a group of intellectuals or being part of an anti-Social group only How boring and monotonous it  would be.

Etiquette’s

Etiquette:What does this word really mean? How much does one really believe in the norms of etiquette’s today? Is this just a word in the dictionary? Or a code of conduct to be followed for a select few?

I am sure,By now you must have guessed these aren’t the etiquette that are followed at dining tables that I am talking about. But,Simple acknowledgements for greeting sent across to you.

What really ticks are mind to not acknowledge gestures of gratitude?

Why are really so obsessed with only believing that their is an X percentage of humans existing in this world?

What is the ego within us,stopping us in appreciating the world,That is beyond our world too.

We,All love quotes. But,Very few of us live by them and even a far fewer number people actually live by it.Only because we keeping coming back to the question why should we do it for them? What really is the benefit I could get in return? And this is the reason why “the society”,We aspire to live in.Will never change and we rarely Question ourself is the society I really wanted to be part ? But,Never really are vocal about it as we fear,Be the only one in the battlefield.

Happy New Year!!

The Last Week Of 2017,Hadn’t been planned. And had no idea it  would be another Hectic week ahead right since the week began,The preparation of the Annual ‘Cookie Exchange ‘we’re getting done,From the menu,To the Photoshoot.

Thinking ahead  for 2018,Ordered Books online,And Had The Photoshoot planned for the  books  which I not only planned to start my Year with ,But almost done reading “ExitWest” to having  fulfilled one of my other passions besides Filmmaking. Sharing my learning  and experiences with  others ,some teaching.Well Yes”Coffee Tasting” sessions for lovers of the beans and for the listeners of a Radio Station 104.2 Fm jiyodilse. The 365 Day  calendar Year!!

Surely had a mix of 365 different  moments. Including the eve that welcomed the Year in a simple  way of having Conversation with  friends who are more likely to be frequently met over this Year. And to conclude the night with Irish Coffee with a friend at home.

Exit West -Book Review !!

“When we migrate,We murder from our lives those we leave behind”

Exit West” -The Story got me interested,While going through a magazine article and immediately noted the book in my Reading list,For the next Year 2018.

Last week of December,I ordered it online and it was waiting on my Desk to be read soon!! No,I wasn’t waiting for 2018 to begin to start reading this one,I was on the verge  of getting through another book “Sapiens” another one I had on my list and ended 2017 by reading the Book .

It’s barely  been 2 days of the New Year!!

And I am Just Done reading ‘Exit West ,by Mohsin Hamid,Who I wasn’t aware was the author who wrote the’ Reluctant Fundamentalist.’Which was Adapted into a movie by Mira Nair.

The Book”Exit West”is  very similar to the story of  Reluctant Fundamentalist and Going through the books written by Hamid,I realised he is intrigued by the idea  of cross cultural influence and ‘Exit West’  Too is  a story of lovers Saeed & Nadia’s lives evolving through the  the years  of living together and never settling in one place realising Home is where they belong. And in many ways we all are immigrants and refugees in our homeland.

Exit West has also being shortlisted by ManBookerPrize 2017 and has been on of the Best Books Of 2017.

Million$Quartet Musical !!

One Afternoon,I am told by one of my colleagues.

Today,I have to go and watch the “Million Dollar Quartet” Musical.I had to keep myself content Not because,I knew I was going for a spectacular show! But the experience of witnessing a musical show And As the show concluded.

I was a totally a fan of the entire cast who performed the

“Million Dollar Quartet”   a recording of an impromptu  jam session involving (Elvis Presley) Played by Rhys Whitfield ,(Jerry Lee Lewis) played by  Martin Kaye who is simply magical with not only his fingers But as a performer too   ,(Carl Perkins) played by Matt Wycliffe was electrifying with the guitar    and (Johnny Cash) played by Robbie Durham  made on December 4 ,1956 at the Sun Records Studio in Memphis,Tennessee

The recording was first released in Europe in 1981 as The Million Dollar Quartet with 17 tracks.

Peter Duncan   Played by Sam Philips the legendary record producer – the man who brought the 4 recording stars together to create music history.

Established performer Carl Perkins was to record songs with a new performer, Jerry Lee Lewis. Elvis Presley stops by the studio along with his girlfriend, a singer named Dyanne (at the real session, Elvis’s girlfriend was a dancer, Marilyn Evans—now Riehl).Johnny Cash had stopped by to talk to recording impresario Sam Philips. They soon have a jam session together. Philips attempts to re-sign Johnny Cash to a new contract, unaware he has already signed with Columbia Records  Typically, as a member from the Quartet enters for the first time, he sings a verse of one of his most famous songs, followed by an onstage freeze of all actors. During this time Sam Philips relates to the audience how he first discovered the boy, and a brief, few line scene of that moment occurs between Philips and the musician, followed by Sam Phillips asking the boy to play something for him, which is the next verse of the song, and everyone unfreezes.
