Some of The Best Movies Now Streaming

  • Jojo Rabbit
  • A Movie I missed watching in the cinema theatres and wasn’t sure until how long would I have wait to watch this film, But a few months later It released on another streaming platform. And so I watched the film.

A story about a boy who is nicknamed Jojo Rabbit after a summer camp weekend and a story set during the conflict of German-Jews and during a period where Hitler was hailed by Some of his Fanatics and how one had to be careful in the communication.

But this film is a hilariously funny and slightly emotional film worth watching and When you have The director himself portraying Hitler it just can’t better.

The movie is actually based on the novel “Caging Skies” by Christine Leunens.

The novel centres on a young Hitler Youth who discovers a Jewish girl hidden in his house by his mother.

Hitler in the movie is Jojo’s imaginary friend thus he is the Hitler that a young boy would imagine.

He also pointed out that Hitler is an amalgamation of different people in his life, such as his father, the Nazis in town and even his friend Yorki.

One of the tensest scenes finds Gestapo officers (led by Stephen Merchant) searching Jojo’s home. However, the scene is also hilarious with the Gestapo doing little more than greeting one another with the “Heil Hitler” salute which is made 31 times in the scene

    1. At the 92nd Academy Awards, the film received six nominations
    2. Including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress for Johansson, and Best Adapted Screenplay

Johansson earned both her first and second Oscar nominations this year.

In addition to being up for best supporting actress, she also nabbed the best actress nod for her work in Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story.

    Contagion

Just Imagine have written, Directed a film almost a decade ago on the exact same way we have all been struck by the pandemic. It’s surprisingly an exact replica of the way the Coronavirus has come about. The Imagination of such accuracy is unbelievable.

The last five minutes of the story – The way it has been shot & directed is the best explanation of the full film. You have to watch this film. The star cast has lived the story once already while filming, But today we are all living this in reality.

    Marriage Story  By Noah Baumbach

Marriage Story is a true story based on Noah Baumbach relationship and separation of his marriage with actress Jennifer Jason Leigh as well as his parent’s divorce.

Marriage Story is about a relationship of an artist couple Charlie Barber played by Adam Driver and Nicole Played by Scarlett Scarlett Johansson While Charlie Barber runs a theatre company in New York City, Nicole was a teen film actress and they both are going through marital troubles.

At the same Time Nicole is offered a role in Television Pilot in LA and soon decides to live in NYC and live with her mother  Henry her son and follow her dream of being a Hollywood actress.

While Charlie stays back in New York and works on his play that he would like to showcase at the Broadway.

The Story then follows the couple mutually decide to divorce. However one day Nicole hires a family Nora lawyer and tells him the full story of their relationship and mentions a  few speculations of Charlie’s relationship with his stage manager in the theatre company.   In the meantime, Charlie flies to LA to Nicole to share his happiness of winning a prestigious Fellowship grant But instead has divorce papers handed over.

Charlie lawyer believes they should play dirty, but rather Charlie doesn’t want things to go bad.

While the movie moves ahead with both coming to a common conclusion for their separation while living on a different coast, they have different laws for the same.

The film brings out a lot of emotional and realistic feel as the story is based on true events  And  Since Scarlett Jhonasson too had a divorce just a few months before the filming of the film. The Acting too was very real. The movie was very well made and a well- deserved nomination for the film and Scarlett Johnson

This Book was a beautiful ride into a journey of how much ones goes through to reach the top. But, In an entertainment business & media business, it’s very competitive. During Robert’s tenure, there were so many important acquisitions he acquired and managed to keep re-innovating and to keep Disney relevant as an organisation to an extent that he acquired Rupert Murdoch organisation for Disney and got access to a bunch of media channels including a popular streaming platform of theirs in India the Hotstar app and rebranded Disney+. There are so many insights to share, The relationship with Steve Jobs and how he convinced him and manages to acquire Pixar.

Personal Book Review – Becoming & Charles Chaplin !!

    Becoming by Michelle Obama

I Wouldn’t have really read this book. But, The moment you read It’s written by the former first lady, You know it’s going to be a great read. As it’s going to have things you wouldn’t know about their lives and you also get the chance to know the White House from an insider, The whole architecture, The protocols and the life behind the camera as a president and more importantly Michelle Obama’s journey in life.

    Charles Chaplin – Autobiography

I really don’t like reading artist biographies or autobiography’s who have been part of the entertainment industry. For one they could be totally biased, one-sided and slightly boring to read. But Charles Chaplin I have been wanting to read for a long time, a couple of days before we went on national lockdown (25th march ’20’ ) I was about to place an order from the e-commerce website, But did not. Also, having read most of the books that I had already ordered and now worried I had no books to read, First I began scrolling from my contacts and messaged a couple of my “friends” if they could lend me some books. After having waited for too long for them to reply, I browsed through my library at home once again! Maybe there is a book I haven’t read and guess what! I found one of the first editions of Charles Chaplin which was tearing apart and I began reading the book, It was one of the best books I must have read on cinema and actor as it teaches you so much about what goes behind an actor during his preparation and how much effort is it to “Act” and being a superstar of the “silent Era” This fascinated me and within five days I had finished reading the book. Right from his childhood to him coming back from Hollywood and visiting his roots in The UK to him finally settling down in Switzerland to have been married numerous time. About five times and having eleven kids to getting the longest standing ovation in the (Twelve Minutes long ) history of academy awards Charles was one hell of a “Charlie.” It’s a must-read for all and besides Charlie, if you want to read another book on an actor you must! And must read Naseeruddin Shah Memoir – Then one day!

    LOCKDOWN. DOWN UNDER HOUSE ARREST!!

Lockdown has made me realise, how much I am used to being by myself.

And how much, I enjoy it too.

Spending time exercising, reading books and watching movies,

Without having to unnecessary stare at my phone, when you around people as the interaction is hardly there.

I also observed, that how we humans have lost interacting with one another when we are face to face.  Your presence is on only felt when you upload a post on social media – you normally would respond or get a response to.

But, when you haven’t uploaded anything or don’t have anything to post – there are hardly any conversations taking place.

Would we be able to rediscover the art of having great conversations post this lockdown? Or will we fall, into our shells now that we have become comfortable with our own company? Or will we be longing to just get out and go back to what was normal before, how we were before lockdown and don’t want to change?

Will the simple thing that we always took for granted become more meaningful than ever or will they mean something to us?

Making your breakfast, Enjoying the Sunrise & Sunsets. Enjoying a home-cooked meal.

Would the present be our future- Working from our homes, Fewer colleagues in offices? Would retail stores turn into warehouses and just a couple of them would be open as retail stores? And shopping will only be done mostly online Would Salons, only be available through Appointments rather than unnecessary waiting for your turn? Would Schools & Colleges be only online..? Or Will doctors take appointments & meet patients online and only if critically serious (Emergency or have surgery the patient will be required to go to the hospital) Will we see print medium becoming obsolete and only digital magazines, E-Books and E-Newspaper available to read. (This would involve fewer people to print, Fewer people to distribute and reduction in maintenance. Books fewer copies could be printed, Newspaper just a few of them too and magazines can totally go digital.

Though all these will affect real estate commercial spaces – But, We would require fewer people in offices and hence so many offices wouldn’t be required. That would automatically reduce your overhead expenses and the same could be used in satisfying your employees & profits too.

But, Most importantly we would require our I.T infrastructure to improve with better internet connectivity around and stronger Mobile communication towers.

These changes will also affect the automobiles sector – But will keep Air pollution & congestion to a bare minimum, Which has been now with cleaner air & Clearer skies.

Restaurants & Cafes will be both delivery services & Walk in and going out will be an occasion and be social than ever before.

Cinema chains could create an app – where they have movies screening with the timing and if there are fewer seats sold for a particular time, that can be replaced by another movie and about *100 tickets per screening should be allowed. So if you have four screens – 250 capacity. 100 people per screening for each film.

Or they could start with a subscription-based model like the other streaming sites only for films & Movie Festivals.

Though this will impact the revenues of the films in some ways, anyways filmmaker sells the movie rights to streaming sites & broadcasting channels to premier it. And this way they anyway make money.

In the future anyways Small budget movies will be released on the OTT Platform and films with cinematic appeal with them will be released at cinema theatres.

Though with these changes there will be a rise in a lot of unemployment. But we all do have skills that would give us the digital platform to grow and make money – We all would be our own channel of content and earn money too through Monetising your channel.

These changes will create a new market for other Jobs that you never thought could exist. And at the same time will you be freer.

The Lockdown in some ways has questioned us – Are we humans really moving ahead or are we falling back behind and becoming like the Homo sapiens, we have originated from – Humans who would go hunting, Make food and sleep and repeat and did not have any leisure, luxuries that we humans consider to be “Normal” Like the Internet, Phone and the basics to live our life. Yes, we have come this far! But, how far have we come as individuals, and as people who did not always belong on earth? But, having been ruling ever since we realised we were the who can capitalise here on the earth, Where species moved freely. Who if you have noticed have taken over the streets and the nature once again presently.
