Retail in India!!

retail-india.jpg

The Retail Business In India compared to the any part of the world is a challenge for everybody ,not only  the ones coming in to india from International market but also  for the ones within the country. This is because Since India is a country with 29 states and 7 union territories, each having its own culture,Background and traditions which makes it difficult for one organisation in retail to know whether the business will be effective or will it fail. But in all of these states and India one thing is common the size of the product that is available needs to be as small as possible compared to retail business in  United states of America where sizes should be as large as possible. This might be  because we Indians tends to budget our expenditure for our monthly Shopping consisting of Grocery,Personal Care and daily tit -bits.But at the same time we don’t like wasting too much. or may be one of the other reasons that I truly believe might be the reason is of telling their neighbours that I bought all my monthly shopping for an X amount, rather than another X amount otherwise. We like saving and we also ask ourself Do we need so much? Why can’t we buy a smaller or and also if we buy the larger sizes we are unnecessary consuming something we don’t need in that quantity. And we also tend to think that we are being forced to spend an extra amount of money when we don’t need to if we are buying the larger sizes.

Where as in America we  have large sizes,so that we go shopping once a while and not very regularly   in a month,Because we have ran out of the goods and we must now go and shop.Shopping in India is also a way of socialising, where a lot shoppers meet their friends and start catching up with one another. In Usa Indians are programmed  to go every month and shop for  their grocery “Like another Job”.

“Queen of Katwe”-Personal Movie Review

“Queen of Katwe” A film by Mira Nair.Is a film Based On a true story,That Sends out a very strong message to the audiences,That no matter what background you belong to,No matter where you come from. You must be given the opportunity to prove yourself. The film revolves around the central character Phiona (Played by Madina Nalwanga) the movie on who it’s actually based and Robert Katende (Played by David Oyelowo, who was last seen playing the role of Sir.Mater Luther King in Salma)Play’s the role of  the coach who start’s training some of the kids in a  ‘ Katwe’,  a small village of Uganda, how to play Chess ,as a part time job,But makes it a full time job when he realises the potential of these kids becoming Master of the game. The amazing part of the story is how they adapt ,and prove their worth by defeating students from the best high school in the Uganda.

The timely expression and dialogues with South African music add the extra touch to make the movie an enjoyable one.

The star Cast also includes Lupita Nyong’O who play’s the role of Phiona mother (Nakku Harriet) (Academy Award winner of “12 Years A Slave”)

The complete star cast and the team involved in the film,Has done a really good job with the movie.

India In A Day!!

“India in a day”Attended the screening of the film and realised there is so much happening in this country in just a day from emotions soaring high to falling low to realising it happens only in India,Where the lawmakers too don’t follow the law.

To realising each day is  a struggle.

To concluded that only the small things matter the most in India.

Bringing a smile on someone’s face to making one happy.

The concept of crowdfunding telling India’s to send a day in India and compiling them in a form of story was apt to get to showcase how really India is.

India as a country is so diverse from religion,Spirituality, Politics,Cinema to cricket and the cultural that’s it’s hard to believe this one country and not many other countries.

Coffee !!!

coffee

“A lot can happen over a cup of coffee”

“Coffee switches on the best in you”

“Wake up and smell the coffee”

Are just some of the popular slogans relating to coffee and if you actually understand the slogan they are completely true.

Think about it .Wake up and smell the coffee is not just a slogan,But a understanding of what coffee does.It helps you in activating  your senses ,the  smell of coffee gives you a high like no other thing may be alcohol can be the closest to coffee .

“Coffee switches on the best in you “is just another tagline/slogan telling you  coffee helps you in being more alert and more aware of your surrounding,Because of the caffeine that stronger in coffee than in any other drink that contains caffeine including energy drinks.

But wait a minute,This is not a thesis or a boring post of coffee,Rather its a post of the concept of coffee shops,Coffeehouses or Café that would help people connect with one another.

Think about it. Coffee-houses,Coffee shops are places where one can easily pass ones time enjoying a cup of coffee and at the same time have company of strangers/Friends or employees. Coffee shops are  one of the original places to socialise and connect with like minded people.

You can just walk into a coffee shop read a book.Write your stories, articles make your presentation and have conversation with strangers, and if you regularly visit the cafe regular who were once strangers can become your friends.

You are alone,Yet you are with a lot of other people.

Are we loosing this culture of spending time in coffee shops ?

Not really we are seeing it coming back with a lot of people using it to the fullest  by Debating, having conversation  connecting  with people from different backgrounds and culture to interacting with national and international tourist.Or for that matter of listening to music, or being absorbed in oneself in surrounding where there is so much happening.

There is one table discussing the issues they are facing at workplace.Another is finding it difficult to balance its relationship, a bunch of friends trying to study and understand the solution of the problem.

Coffee shop is the place where we are in touch with so much happening in oneself that hardly makes it on our Social networking sites where we realise, everybody is fighting a battle to be won.Its the place where human interact face to face.

Coffeeshop are surely one of the best places to hangout .

Euro 2016 in Europe !!

Uefa-euro-2016.png

The football season is in full swing in Europe,And what better than being on a vacation at this time in that part of the continent. On my recent exploration, which happened to coincide with the UEFA EURO 2016,France being the host .No,I wasn’t in France,But The Eastern European Circuit. Prague ,Vienna and Budapest   and on those dates  itself when each of these Host Countries were playing a competitive team.Football being The international  National Sport  of the European countries This experience of enjoying an Important  football tournament was the highlight of my trip. Watching the Portugal v Austria outside the station with locals enjoying their beers, cheering to support their country, while there was a minority of Portugal supporters out there,The Austrian went Oh! Ah! at every attempt of scoring a GOAL.Thats was just the beginning of the football action we were going to experience. The Next Stop Budapest (HUNGARY) And HUNGARY Plays Portugal,A match very important for the Portuguese.

This match,Was a match we did not want to miss experiencing. We headed to a Stadium,Capacity of 7,000 people and this full with its capacity, had a atmosphere of  if a Concert had been organised.  people jumped  to enter from the fenced Boundaries, climbing the gates. But as the match ended with a draw 3-3, the Hungarian  Shouted Slogans and flocked around the streets forcing the public transport to shutdown (The buses specially) and as we reached our hotel on the way we saw people climbing the signals,Jumping and having a gala time and Do you Know why?

Not because, they were at par with The Portuguese,But because it was history that was made that evening it took Hungarian’s  44 years to qualify to the next stage of the league.

This  experience is  off my Bucket list.
