new-rs-500-2000-notes-650_650x400_61478622987.jpgOn the eve of the presidential election in  America, Narendra modi prime minister of India announced in his speech a statement that many thought was a prank being passed on their messaging app,But as soon as they tuned  on the broadcasting channels they believed the news to be real when he completed his statement “₹500 and ₹1000” notes to be banned and replaced by new ₹500 and ₹2000 notes. But a panic around was already created How?

When?Why?

How nobody knew about this ?

Why -To curb Black money laundering and fake note circulation

When -Effective from today your current ₹500 & ₹1000 are worthless paper.

But,Wait a minute don’t yet make ash from your cash.

Your bank will issue  new currency money for ₹500 & ₹2000 denominations from 10th November 2016.

But don’t forget to deposit your old useless notes between the 10th November and 30th December.

Also to make things comfortable around and ease the people’s tension of  will they be getting notes.

The banks would be open ,for you even on the weekend that’s Saturday and Sunday.

This move by our prime minister has been one of the boldest moves .yet been played by him and his team of minister.

Trivia this was a concept that was implemented by him,But the idea was from a lesser known guy Anil .

And if all prevails it’s time to go cashless.. Paytm karo.

This plan was planned a few months ago a few close groups knew about it too,But the common man and some elitist  were  stunned by the goggly thrown by our PM.

Rio Olympics 2016

lesjeuxderio2016

Rio Olympics 2016  is concluding in less than a weeks time. And India as a country hasn’t really performed well Again.

In its 100 years since olympics. India as a country Has  won 9 Golds.6 Silver.12 bronzes. Thats shows in the country of more than 30 Prominent Billionaires,We can only produce a handful of Athletes to compete on a global platform.

Rather than strategising how to make a British-Indian sport  garner more eyeballs, introducing the americans  With Cricket ,A  National Game of our country. No,actually not Hockey is our national sport. Cricket has been in our blood because of the fame and money that we earn,But we can do that with any sport if we encourage the youth to practice and help them with resources to fulfil their dream of not only participating but  winning also. Why not invest and  make strategies  of how to make potential talented youth to follow their dream.

In 1927, the provisional Indian Olympic Committee formally became the Indian Olympic Association (IOA)-its main tasks was to promote the development of sports in India, choose host cities for the national games, and send teams-selected from the national games-to the Olympics

1928 national games, it selected seven athletes to represent India at the next Olympics

At the 2008 Olympics ,Abhinav Bhindra  won gold in the 10 m Air Rifle event becoming the first Indian to win an individual gold medal at the Olympic Games

The  2012 Summer olympics  saw an 83-member Indian contingent participating in the games, and set a new best for the country with six total medals. Wrestler Sushil Kumar  became the first Indian with multiple individual Olympic medals since  Norman Pritchard  in 1901. However, both of Norman Pritchard’s medals were silver, whileSushil Kumar  had one silver and one bronze.

This olympics 124 team members were sent and  Sakshi Malik   wins Bronze Medal in women’s 58 kg freestyle wrestling becoming first Indian woman Wrestler to do so.

And a historic win for P.V Sindhu winning a silver in badminton for india.

The Indian Olympic Association’s most important task was

Securing Funding: One of the Indian Olympic Association’s main early challenges was to secure funding, so that it could send the national team to the Olympics and finance the related costs of transport, room, and board. It obtained funding from the Indian government, from the state governments, and from various state sports federations.

But,nothing has changed in the last 70 years.

IOA President Yadavindra Singh’s appeal for funding in 1948 stated: “We need about 3 Lacs of rupees to finance” the Indian Olympic team for the London Olympics; that “the youth taking part in these games become ambassadors of goodwill” for India; and that “careful selection, intensive training and proper equipment is most essential” to field a competitive team, but that the Indian Olympic Association is “greatly handicapped for want of sufficient funds” for these tasks

To such an extent that about 4 years ago :

On 4 December 2012, the International olympic Committee   suspended the IOA on the basis of corruption, government interference, and not following guidelines of the IOC. Several members of the IOA have been charged with crimes.

The IOA was formally banned for not following the Olympic Charter  in their elections, instead following the Indian government’s Sports Code. The IOA held elections under the Indian Sports Code due to a directive from the Delhi High Court  . On 15 May 2013, International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided to lift the ban on the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) as Indian representatives from the government and sports bodies reached an agreement with IOC officials

What is the point of having Bollywood celebrities as Ambassador,If they aren’t helping athletes by providing them the resources? What is the richest indian wife’s doing  by becoming part of the international olympic Committee ?

Salman Khan was named goodwill ambassador of the Indian contingent for the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Its easy to bring in leagues and international players as the are easier to make More money.

But its a challenge, A real challenge to make a nobody a somebody by helping them giving a path to succeed.

Kapoor & Sons since 1921

Kapoor & Sons  Since 1921

Kapoor and sons the melodramatic movie by Dharma production released on the 18th March.

A typical dharma movie dramatising a simple idea by showing each character to the fullest.A predictable story as it starts from the two sons coming back home to be with their grandfather who is terribly sick and who’s only wish is to have a family photo with the title kapoor and sons since 1921 before he dies.

The movie is character driven , showing the relationship of two brothers.Their conflicts, their similarities and their jealous attitude in sibling of the same gender.

The story was dragged after the interval with not much to show and tell.Shakun Batra’s second flick after ek main aur ek tu.Had high expectations from a cast like Rishi kapoor,Alia Bhatt,Siddharth Malhotra and debutant Fawad Khan ,had all the hype . Rishi kapoors performance and theatre artist like Rajat Kapoor and Ratna pathak’s  chemistry and  expression were well timed. But as far as the juniors go they overacted mostly.

The 140 minutes could be sliced to 120 minutes by making it less about the family photo.

The relationship between the mothers and sons were flawless.

Kapoor and sons since 1921 is like the comeback of the  dharma productions after a long while .

Wah Taj!!

The beauty of The Taj just doesn’t lie only in its structure , even the shadow of the monument is a perfect beauty Taj Mahal has been on the bucket list since the day I couldn’t go with my School mates almost a decade ago and just when parents gave the options of Celebrating a milestone in the city of Agra we jumped, the long wait was coming to an end,we would be finally getting to see one of the wonder of the world “Taj Mahal ,”The drive 3 hour long from the capital was not long for us to view a The wonder of the world,As we passed the streets of the city with stagnant water ,motor bikes and small shops on either sides of the streets made us move slowly to our destination, evening 5:30 pm just before entry for the day would be shut we walked hurried to view the glory of the city, and the glory of India ,The monumental structure which was so huge and spotlessly cleaned, made me rubbish all the Rumours of this turning black and to just digest the fact that This was made in India and has to be the most beautiful wonder of the world I have seen till date and the only wonder of the world who’s reflection is crystal clear .

Neerja -Movie Review !!

Neerja The movie based on true events that took place on 5th September 1986 where Pan Am flight 73 flight travelling to U.S.A had a layover at Karachi International Airport and was Hijacked by 4 terrorist,The hijackers demand was to free there nationalist who were Imprisoned in our country(India).Neerja Bhanot the Person in charge of the flight took the responsibility with her team to secure the safety of the passengers. But in the end after a day long negotiation Neerja Bhanot was brave enough to loose her life for the safety of others .The movie Directed by Ram Madhavi who has Co-Directed Taare Zameen Par. The movie wasn’t gripping enough some loose ends the build up for the tense moments weren’t there .

The actors Shabana Azmi played the role of the mother and Yogendra Tiku played the father of Neerja.

They were well the saving grace of the film .Sonam Kapoor acted well in bits and pieces ,Specially the last 15 minutes .

The movie could have had a few minutes being sliced about 10-15 minutes could easily be edited out.

The 1st film by bling Unplugged was a great story to be captured for the celluloid especially for the millennial to know about Neerja who saved 359 lives by having the presence of mind and being Brave.

My View ,Go for the movie if you don’t know who Neerja Bhanot was ?
