Mary Kom,about a year ago I had attended the Toi lit fest and there ,Mary Kom’s unbreakable was launched with highlights of her life from her autobiography was shared in an interview and that time itself ,I felt it’s such a huge achievement for somebody to believe in herself and silencing the critics when they spoke against her .
Also for a mother of 3 to continue boxing isn’t really that easy ,it was that day which made a proud indian .
And today after 9 months when the movie was released and I saw it ,it had the same impact of that day when she was sharing her story while being interviewed .
It’s the story of her journey that really make us believe that even indian woman’s are strong .
Has apple lost the creativity of thinking different ?
The iPhone 6 was launched last night ,and this was the 1st time all rumours about the phone were true ,the phablet size,two phones from the launch ,the features were all true and the “surprise ” element which they were known for was missing .
That was not all ,the phone is more inspired from other mobile companies like HTC,Samsung and Google making me think are all the phones being manufactured by the same manufacturer and just the brand names are changing ?
Also the OS iOS 8 ,I had the opportunity to experience the beta version and same striking similarities with other OS .
What is making apple following other brands ,when they were known to be followed by brands .
The other launch of apple watch $345 price and stylish looking would surely make people aspire to get that on their wrist ,but the other question that was on my mind ,was our we looking at smart watch phones ,in the future ,with everything on are wrist?
The watch was the only surprising launch ,but will it sell because it’s apple or will it sell as a smart watch ,
The launch will be early 2015 ,let’s wait and watch .
how long will it work like this?
India the country of billions ,and the focus of the world with many Mncs entering the country ,and the exposure from the world ,the work culture need to change in the country ,when we are given the opportunity to work in corporate,sports,education and hospitality and advertising ,Why are we restricted for are comfort .
In terms like having a dress code for an organisation ,Institute and for that matter any field ,I am trying to put forward an argument of being comfortable in jobs like school,college where we are given strict restriction especially girls to not wear jeans,shirts,T-shirts and instead wear the traditional indian outfits .
Why do we need to follow this.The only consideration you must have is how well or how bad you are doing the job ,and giving you the results of the job you have been given.And how good are you with the job then why insist on having restrictions ?,End of the day its all about the job that you have been given that needs to be done ? If we don’t change the attitude now ,then when will we and its high time we change and follow with the times .Also we must make all the profession look “cool” so that we have more interested in the jobs ,or else we might not have any who would not like to do the job since there are too many restrictions .
Should a brand change it’s identity ?
How strong and important is an identity or in other terms perception,image or positioning .
I was thinking about the article I had read on Tata nano and was wondering how challenging would it be for them to re-positioning the car as a youth car .
In today’s times,when we see people spending about 40K-60K on mobile phones ,to make a statement “yes we can afford this”,Tata nano labelled it’s nano as the “cheapest car “now that tag has becomes too expensive for Tata nano ,since their sales have been declining and while they are trying to reinvent the car and focus on today youth .And with the new car launches every month by other automobiles at a affordable price with great features .It has become a difficult place for the nano
The main point for writing this post was to make you aware of the challenge’s a brand faces while repositioning itself ,even the colourful apple phones failed to make an impact on Indian consumer because it was labelled the “cheapest iPhone”.Its not just brands that occasionally fail while repositioning itself .But also celebrities fail when they change their choices of movie because the audience are used to their star doing a certain genre of film , it becomes another challenge for the celebrities since thier is a strong perception in the mind about a star,For the audience .But with brands they have created an image for themselves in the begging by offering features and services and because of some unknown reason they want to reposition or re brand themselves which gives them new challenges to face .
The Trip!!
Back and just been 3 days ,I have finally written about my first visit to the United States .
This trip ,was more like a family affair,meeting so many family members from dad’s side for the first time ,and dad himself meeting them after ages ,It was rather surprising to meet them ,and see them being so warm and welcoming ,not just the east coast,but the west coast too we had met a few of them.
These last 4 weeks have been really interesting and unexpecting since we hadn’t really heard about a few of them and then meeting them was really good .
These 4 week too were the weeks where we stayed with my dad’s sibling and were taken good care of.This holiday dint feel like a holiday ,it was more like being at home itself .this holiday has been one of those holiday were you wonder how time flew away .
There were also quite a few inspirational stories heard of people who have either struggled ,succeeded and made it big in this country ,where anything is possible .
Now that the trip has come to end ,for the first time in my vacation I don’t feel like going back home .
The only down side were the flight delays and the long journey from home .
