Valerian -Personal Movie Review!!

Valerian:The city of a thousand planet .A story adapted from the comic ,valerian and Laureline written by Pierre Christin. The movie directed by Luc Besson who’s last flick was “Lucy “another SCI-Fi story starring Scarlett Johnson was thrilling enough to wonder what’s next and then Valerian comes.

Starring Cara Delevingne who was part of the suicide squad last and Dane Dehaan in  played Harry Osborn in The amazing Spider-Man.

The movie is about an assignment to maintain peace and harmony in human territory assigned by minister of defence. And their race against time.

The music by alxendra desplat the French composer who we all know because of the movies like “Harry Potter “and “Grand Budapest Hotel “to name a few that kept us glued to enjoying the Cinematic experience and same goes with “Valerian “too. The music and effects in 3D and a director who’s last was “Lucy “makes it all in all to go and experience the world on another planet.

Last but not the least another reason to experience is the Guest appearance of Rihanna and Ethan Hawke.

Wunderland!!

Miniatur Wunderland, Hamburg The world’s largest Model railway is a tourist attraction, and the highlight for me in my trip to Germany.

Can you imagine a tiny real world, from cities around the world, giving the same feeling of the actual cities.

Last vegas,Night effect would give you the feeling of standing on “the strip” and watching the lighting .

The flight taking off,With the sound effect of the engine and the movement of the airplane going on the runaway ready to take off, would only give you the sense and feeling as if you were there at the airport witnessing the action,These airplanes models had the branding of lufthansa, airberlin ,Emirates and many more airlines on them. The most amazing experience of witnessing the real world around the globe in a tiny space.

Trivia of the wonderland:

* The project was created by twin brothers Frederik and Gerrit Braun

nine years and spent £8million

*a replica of the Hamburg Airport and Italy . Of the 6,800 m2(73,195 sq ft) of floorspace, the model takes 1,490 m2 (16,038 sq ft

In the U.S. section you’ll find intricate models of the Rocky Mountains, the Everglades, Cape Canaveral and the Grand Canyon.

The Celluloid!!

Are we nearing a time when watching movies at cinema theatres and multiplex won’t be fun any more? The recent movie experience made me question. This though.

Why does One watch a movie at cinema rather than watch a movie at home or television?

Well,It’s not difficult to answer this one,But for the sole reason of watching a film the way it is without

An unedited version rather than an edited version suitable for family viewing. This not about censoring some portions of the film.

But,About Censoring the abuse language with a Beep. Why?

Not,That I enjoy listening to them aloud. But the beep takes away the cinematic experience an film

Offers at cinema theatre,Also if this is the case. Then why not download movies and watch from sites across world,We are only encouraging more piracy and looking at numbers not meeting the expected numbers as fewer audiences would rush to a multiplex to catch the latest release. And would wait for it to be premiered on Television.

If this is the case,There would be soon no HollyWood movies releasing at all at the cinemas as they would not see it as a profitable release.

And in time such as Introducing movie on demands via App for audiences to watch movies they have missed out.

This change itself makes you Question don’t we have any Creative freedom at all ?

Where are we heading ?

English/Vinglish

English The language we all know is difficult to learn,English is also known as a phunny language and today even the simplest words are hard to spell correct if the autocorrect isn’t activated in your devices like the mobile fone tablet and Computer
While just browsing online the other day the house helper came up and asked me “Akhil” what’s the spelling of January. I Quickly Responded with J-A-N-U-A-R-Y.

Thought for another moment and repeated yes it’s (J-A-N-U-A-R-Y)

But,I wasn’t still sure about the spelling as my mind did not check the correct word I Spelled out,So only when I googled I was satisfied yes the spelling was correct.

With each passing day,We are so heavily dependent on our devices that the day isn’t too far when we will google each word and write it down since our vocabulary consists of “U”

Instead of “You” “v” instead “We” we aren’t moving ahead with our grammar rather moving backwards, going back to those historic days of the past in other words the world would be adapating to Latin English once again.

Back to the Shakespearean times “Thou shall not pass “in English if it’s not Shakespearean. Technology is making us handicapped and we haven’t realised yet.

Happy New Year !!

Dear,

Readers

2016 is Done and dusted with but, looking back at the year and looking back at the book that made a difference to me I am writing this letter continuing my blog of the other books that I read and enjoyed.

“The High Mountains of Portugal “by Yann Martel was one such book that made me want to read this author after reading the blurb Three journeys.Three broken hearts . One question …

What’s life without stories ?

And the more the reasons I enjoyed reading the book was since it has been a year of asking ourself What life truly is ? And life is about Stories as stories are what connect us.

The moment you read what the book is about ,You want to give it a read. The book is written in three parts homeless,Homeward and home. And its interesting since its about three stories that has a common conclusion and very descriptive, describing every detail and making the reader imagine the setting as if he is there. The story is a little odd and not every reader will enjoy this.
The book blurb has one thought that makes you question -“Three journeys.Three broken hearts . One question …What’s life without stories”?

“The Color Purple” By Alice Walker . The “Color Purple “is a novel, made up of letters written by Celie to God and by Nettie to Celie. At the start of the novel, Celie is a fourteen-year-old, vulnerable, abused black girl who addresses her letters to “Dear God.”
The Book interested me since I had read a lot about it.And It does not fail to disappoint. The letter writing style used by the writer to write the book was something I enjoyed reading and staying interested till the end ,something that not every book can do.

Also at a time when letter writing is history,The book will only make you fall in love with the idea of why can’t we have letters written today?

On this note wish you all a very Happy New Year !!!  2017 here  is and There are still a lot I want to read,Learn from and experience about the different period of life and how The different parts of the world sitting in another corner of the world. If you have any suggestion on books that I must read or I might like please comment and let me know .

Thanks,

Akhil
