Highway -on the good road !!!

Highway :
The movie highway , I felt was totally inspired and based on ‘the good road’ which was one of the movies nominated from India for the oscars . The story was on the lines of the good road and the character in highway was kidnapped instead of being taken on the road journey as in the good road .
The movie seemed pretty predicable and the locations were a little repeat in the 2:30 hours it seemed a little long ,the music given by A.R Rahman was good too , the popular song Pataka guddi was still stuck In my mind .

Sunday Experience !

Sunday ….no not boring ,but an adventurous Sunday .we were just thinking what to do today and So planned to go for lunch with a friend and just around the corner of our destination ,our fuel was over .we didn’t know what to do …no petrol station close by and so we had to take a rickshaw and go to the near petrol station to get fuel .
So we bought a bottle of water had a few sips and threw the rest . The petrol pump manager refused to give us fuel in the bottle since it’s banned  ,then we told the rickshaw driver they refused to give it to him too
We then asked the manager where we could get the fuel in a bottle or container ,he suggested  another petrol station a little further .There finally we got fuel about 4 Ltrs in a container and went to the place where the car stopped we poured the fuel, went back to the petrol station and refuelled for about ₹500 and then finally went to candies for lunch @2:30.

History of Zumba!!!

Zumba

Zumba is a dance  fitness program created by Colombian dancer and  Choreographer Alberto”Beto” Perez  during the 1990s.

Zumba sessions are typically about an hour long. The exercises include music with fast and slow rhythms, as well as resistance training. The music comes from the following dance styles:Cumbia,Salsa, merengue, mambo ,flamenco ,chachacha, reggaeton, soca, samba, hip hop music ,axe music and tango  . There are eight different types of classes for different levels of age and exertion.Zumba Toning is for the people who do their workouts with toning sticks. Zumba Toning will target the abs, thighs, arms, and other muscles throughout the body. Zumba Toning is adding sculpting of body and cardio.

In the 1990s, Beto Perez forgot his tape of aerobics music for a class he was teaching. He went to his car, listened to music – consisting of traditional Salsa and merengue music – and improvised a class using this non-traditional aerobics music. After finding initial success in Colombia, he moved to the United States in 2001, where he teamed up with cofounder Alberto Perlman and a childhood friend, COO Alberto Aghion. The trio produced a demo reel , and the concept was discovered and licensed by a company called Fitness Quest to create a direct marketing campaign and a line of  Home videos.

Zumba involves  dance and aerobic elements. Zumba’s choreography incorporates hip-hop,soca,samba,salsa, merengue, mambo and marital arts .Squats and lunges  are also included.

A thought for the day !!!

food

Just the other day ,one of my classmates had gone for the weekend to my hometown, from a metro like Mumbai .And so me being from that town ,he asked what he can do?

After thinking about two minutes ,I realised that where ever we travel ,the only difference we see is food .
whether its Travelling to another state in the country , or to another country abroad we only see what else can be eaten ,there is so much everywhere for sightseeing ,the shopping brands and stuff might be available in another country in a few months but the only difference would be of getting that authentic taste of food which is served locally ,no matter how hard you try to get the exact taste of a local cuisine there would be some  ingredients that would not be available. That gives  the exact taste of the dish. And that’s why when we  travel we  go to authentic places for authentic food.…
And so food is the only common topic ,even when we discuss our daily happenings .Food is such an important topic today globally .And with accessibility ,its just become easier to travel more, explore more in no time.

Sulafest 2014

The Sulafest this year had too much of electronic music. A complete zone to it .Also , sula was spread out with music in every section ,whether there were electronic zones or an artist trying to grab attention near the grape stomping ,or the main stage and entrance to the Amphitheatre too had music .It seemed this fest had lost its main appeal to have live bands performing , it seems like they got carried away by just being another concert type of event since ,mostly everywhere in India we are getting to hear one genre. It wasn’t really different .Saturday , day one highlight- the gypsy all stars were different, they sang songs and for one of the songs they too tried creating a fusion with folk music and spanish tunes . The Day 2 was utter disappointment since it had just music with no lyrics and nothing new to offer .
Also it seems that the fest has being taking the advantage of the brand name ‘Sula ‘ since this year they even charged rupee 100 for car parking for each day .
