Folk Theatre

The death of Traditional Form of Theatre.

There has been entertainment, even before Cinemas,Television and of course the internet Explosion. But, Does today’s generation have any idea of how the Entertainment in the past was like ?

The once a upon time trend of Flash mob was InFact the closest one would get to experience live entertainment in the traditional form.

But,have  you heard about  “Tamasha”- not the movie, but a form of entertainment in Maharasthra. Which is driven from a persian word meaning a theatrical entertainment of some kind . was  actually different forms of dance available in maharshtra like the Lavanis,Khatak and ghazals performed by artist in village and rurual environment as a form of entertainment displaying the culture of the place as a tourist attraction and as a way of passing the time.

But,Besides Movies  showcasing this  Form of theatre,This form of theatre   is seeing the death of our culture in the state. Not just in maharshtra,Northern India too hasn’t seen “Ramlila”a dramatic folk re-enactment of the life of Rama, ending up in ten-day battle between Rama  and Ravana.

A form of street play telling you the story of Ramayana, Which in today’s time hasn’t been witnessed by many in the form of play.  Because of the Television,Movies and Social Media giving away the one of the most self validated experience  form of entertainment through Audio Visual and will never be able  through Experiencing it.

We have forgotten what its  like to experience culturally rich form of storytelling in its actual format as plays.

its also because of patience, Fame and Money that performers like to act and be part of the larger mass media reach ,rather than travel across with a team for performances and get some self- satisfaction .That is why this form of entertainment has died a natural death

Nautanki another word for street play used in Uttar Pradesh and for    romantic tales, mythologies, or biographies of local heroes

The pleasure of Nautanki lies in the intense melodic exchanges between two or three performers; a chorus is used sometimes. These performances last 6-8 hours.narrating the complete story in a performance. The artist too have lost the time and the audience too have dwindled to make this form of entertainment nearly extinct

These are some of the most popular forms of entertainment of the past, which have lost its appeal and these need to  be part of the culture once again as novelty experiences,For the youth to realise how things have changed in the past,And for another reason how important its to understand Human Connection.

Apple Inc.Million$ Company.

apple.png

Apple Inc. The Multi-Billion$ Company has given business opportunities to so many business categories.

The competitors immediately sense this is the next Big Thing to diverse business into.

Right  from the Laptops to mobile phones and home entertainment devices,They have inspired not just the existing business,But have also inspired a generation to start up new businesses .That make you wonder what was the initial drive and success of the brand? Was it the foundation ? Or The founder Steve Jobs?

Was it the innovation? The IPod or Was it simply connecting the two dots perfectly and reviving a product on the concepts like “Walkman” by thinking Differently and giving a new category of businesses to the brand

But with so many new products and services from One single brand over the years iPad,Apple Pay,Siri and many more. The question that still remains on my mind is …

What is it that is making them fail to innovate and come up with another segment for business growth ?

Is it the Profit Numbers? Recognition of the brand that is making them

Believe anyone and everyone would buy a apple .Even if we don’t innovate   Any more or for that matter  to maintain the quality. Since its apple.

Rio Olympics 2016

lesjeuxderio2016

Rio Olympics 2016  is concluding in less than a weeks time. And India as a country hasn’t really performed well Again.

In its 100 years since olympics. India as a country Has  won 9 Golds.6 Silver.12 bronzes. Thats shows in the country of more than 30 Prominent Billionaires,We can only produce a handful of Athletes to compete on a global platform.

Rather than strategising how to make a British-Indian sport  garner more eyeballs, introducing the americans  With Cricket ,A  National Game of our country. No,actually not Hockey is our national sport. Cricket has been in our blood because of the fame and money that we earn,But we can do that with any sport if we encourage the youth to practice and help them with resources to fulfil their dream of not only participating but  winning also. Why not invest and  make strategies  of how to make potential talented youth to follow their dream.

In 1927, the provisional Indian Olympic Committee formally became the Indian Olympic Association (IOA)-its main tasks was to promote the development of sports in India, choose host cities for the national games, and send teams-selected from the national games-to the Olympics

1928 national games, it selected seven athletes to represent India at the next Olympics

At the 2008 Olympics ,Abhinav Bhindra  won gold in the 10 m Air Rifle event becoming the first Indian to win an individual gold medal at the Olympic Games

The  2012 Summer olympics  saw an 83-member Indian contingent participating in the games, and set a new best for the country with six total medals. Wrestler Sushil Kumar  became the first Indian with multiple individual Olympic medals since  Norman Pritchard  in 1901. However, both of Norman Pritchard’s medals were silver, whileSushil Kumar  had one silver and one bronze.

This olympics 124 team members were sent and  Sakshi Malik   wins Bronze Medal in women’s 58 kg freestyle wrestling becoming first Indian woman Wrestler to do so.

And a historic win for P.V Sindhu winning a silver in badminton for india.

The Indian Olympic Association’s most important task was

Securing Funding: One of the Indian Olympic Association’s main early challenges was to secure funding, so that it could send the national team to the Olympics and finance the related costs of transport, room, and board. It obtained funding from the Indian government, from the state governments, and from various state sports federations.

But,nothing has changed in the last 70 years.

IOA President Yadavindra Singh’s appeal for funding in 1948 stated: “We need about 3 Lacs of rupees to finance” the Indian Olympic team for the London Olympics; that “the youth taking part in these games become ambassadors of goodwill” for India; and that “careful selection, intensive training and proper equipment is most essential” to field a competitive team, but that the Indian Olympic Association is “greatly handicapped for want of sufficient funds” for these tasks

To such an extent that about 4 years ago :

On 4 December 2012, the International olympic Committee   suspended the IOA on the basis of corruption, government interference, and not following guidelines of the IOC. Several members of the IOA have been charged with crimes.

The IOA was formally banned for not following the Olympic Charter  in their elections, instead following the Indian government’s Sports Code. The IOA held elections under the Indian Sports Code due to a directive from the Delhi High Court  . On 15 May 2013, International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided to lift the ban on the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) as Indian representatives from the government and sports bodies reached an agreement with IOC officials

What is the point of having Bollywood celebrities as Ambassador,If they aren’t helping athletes by providing them the resources? What is the richest indian wife’s doing  by becoming part of the international olympic Committee ?

Salman Khan was named goodwill ambassador of the Indian contingent for the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Its easy to bring in leagues and international players as the are easier to make More money.

But its a challenge, A real challenge to make a nobody a somebody by helping them giving a path to succeed.

illogical Indians !

1920x1080_smoking-photoshop-brain-smoke-hd-wallpaper

Indians by nature like to save Money. But, They don’t realise they aren’t saving much. For the past week I was observing customer’s  Behaviour at my Store and realised that people believe they would be saving money if they buy 4 eggs for rupee 24, Rather than buying 6 eggs for rupees 35.Why would you go shopping everyday to stock up your house? Wouldn’t you utilise that time for something better?

No,Here in this small town people believe its a nice time pass going shopping everyday.Stupid Logic.

Its not just with eggs. Cheese cubes pack of ten cost 105 (10.5 per cube) but people would still buy 5-6 loose portions costing (rupee 13 each ) that cost 65. 10 rupees more than what it would cost.

If this is with buying loose products

The other side of a  products available for about 5 rupees less in another store, A few  kilometre away.People will still go to the outlet,Forgetting that another 10-15 minutes would go in travelling, and are  they 100% sure,The product will be available at the location? But what If ,its not available?

They come back to buy the goods at the MRP(Maximum Retail price)

Why don’t people realise that they are wasting money and fuel for something that has now cost them more than it was.

Through my travelling,I have surely realised if you find something in a particular store and you want it,You must grab it.

That’s the same with Promos.

A company giving a promotional scheme,People still want only 1 piece and not the free. What’s that logic?

I mean, earlier people would cry why don’t you have any promotions?Today when we have a few on MNC’s product people want to pay 1/2 the price for the good instead of the whole price for two.

Even with looking at manufacturing dates, People find it old if its two months old and forget their are still 10 months left .

But you know why this anger’s me?

Because they are hogging on food in restaurants without realising how stale the food is.And are happy to get whatever they can have on their plates.

Yes, Indian’s are amazing. They want,What they want without paying a single rupee extra ,and  only what can fit in their storage and refrigerators.
