Tandem cycle !!!

Today I read an article on how a couple is using these tandem bikes to help people especially students on not letting there life end through sucide and they have been riding around cities and they have also being professional dancers and by taking session of dance on the journey they have been earning too. and thats why  this my post on tandem bicycle

The tandem bicycle also known as  twin is a form of bicycle designed to be ridden by more than one person. Tandem refers to the seating arrangement (fore to aft, not side by side), not the number of riders. A bike with two riders side by side is called a sociable.

Tandem bicycles are used for Paralympics  games  with blind  and visually impaired  cyclists riding as stokers with fully sighted captains
The rear rider starts clipped in while the front rider holds tandem upright For those who can get accustomed to the rear rider always being clipped in, the advantage with this technique will become obvious when trying to start at the foot of a bridge or on a hill. If the tandem team does not practice this, then they often reserve this type of start for when they are faced with a bridge or hill. This technique allows the rear rider to apply continuous power as the front rider steadies the tandem during the initial take-off. This reduces the risk of the tandem toppling over due to starting on an incline. The rear rider will continue to pedal as the front rider attempts to get the foot used for steadying the tandem clipped into the pedal.

New year resolution ?

Happy New Year

OK,the new year has begun and its that time of the year where we see people making new year resolution but whats the new year resolution all about ?

where did it all begin? Why and what are the weirdest new year resolution .
And is it all about waiting for the year to begin or  is about having a self-improvement

New Year’s resolution is a secular tradition, most common in the western hemisphere such as opening doors for people beginning from New Year ’s Day
The ancient Babylonians made promises to their gods at the start of each year that they would return borrowed objects and pay their debts

The Romans began each year by making promises to the god Janus , for whom the month of January is named.

In the  Medieval era, the knights took the “ peacock vow” at the end of the Christmas season each year to re-affirm their commitment to Chivalry .

At watch night services , many christians   prepare for the year ahead by praying and making these resolutions.

There are other religious parallels to this tradition. During Judaism’s New Year, Rosh hashanah , through the high holidays and culminating in Yom kippur  (the Day of Atonement), one is to reflect upon one’s wrongdoings over the year and both seek and offer forgiveness. People may act similarly during the catholic  fasting period of Lent  , though the motive behind this holiday is more of sacrifice than of responsibility, in fact the practice of New Year’s resolutions partially came from the Lenten sacrifices. The concept, regardless of creed, is to reflect upon self-improvement annually.

Quoting Frank Ra (author of the new year’s resolution book “A course in happiness” “Resolutions are more sustainable when shared, both in terms of with whom you share the benefits of your resolution, and with whom you share the path of maintaining your resolution. Peer-support makes a difference in success rate with new year’s resolutions”. It is also noted that talking with a counselor about setting goals and new year resolutions can help you keep those resolutions.

In short Resolution are individuals target for a period of time ,just like sales target for salesman .

Drones!!

Drone

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), also  known as drone, is an aircraft  without a human pilot on board. Its flight is controlled either autonomously by computers in the vehicle or with  the remote control   of a pilot on the ground or in another vehicle. The  launch and recovery method of an unmanned aircraft is by the function of an automatic system or an external operator on the ground.
They are usually deployed of military  and special operation applications, but also used in a small but growing number of civil applications, such as policing and firefighting , and nonmilitary security work, such as surveillance of pipelines. UAVs are often preferred for missions that are too “dull, dirty or dangerous” for manned aircraft.
The birth of U.S. UAVs (called RPVs at the time) began in 1959 when United States Air Force (USAF) officers, concerned about losing pilots over hostile territory, began planning for the use of unmanned  flights. This plan became intensified when  Francis Gary Powers and his “secret”U-2 were shot down over the Soviet Union  in 1960.
a UAV is defined as a “powered, aerial vehicle that does not carry a human operator, uses aerodynamic forces to provide vehicle lift, can fly autonomously or be piloted remotely, can be expendable or recoverable, and can carry a lethal or nonlethal payload
The only reason we need (UAVs) is that we don’t want to needlessly expend the man in the cockpit.
As a tool for search and rescue  , UAVs can help find humans lost in the wilderness, trapped in collapsed buildings, or adrift at sea.
including aerial surveying of crops, acrobatic aerial footage in filmmaking, search and rescue operations, inspecting power lines and pipelines, and counting wildlife, delivering medical supplies to remote or otherwise inaccessible regions, with some manufacturers rebranding  the technology as “unmanned aerial systems” (UASs) in preference over “drones.
In the private sector, Amazon.com  founder Jeff Bozos ‘ December 2013 announcement that Amazon is planning rapid delivery of lightweight commercial products using UAVs was met with skepticism, with perceived obstacles including federal and state regulatory approval, public safety, reliability, individual privacy, operator training and certification, security (hacking), payload thievery, and logistical challenges.
