Indian Matchmaking! Now Streaming

It’s Funny! How many things I have done related to weddings, Right from a  show on a popular television channel that highlighted a designer doing a makeover for the bride for their wedding to ending up in Wedding planning with a destination wedding planning organisation to being one of the contenders for the series on the streaming platform. And over the years, working with so many different aspects of weddings & relationship, there are quite a few things I learnt, and quite a few questions to those who answer aren’t justified.
While working on the makeover for the bride about five years ago, I realised girls and women are now taking their time to settle down, They are more confident and independent.
While working with wedding planners – I Realised marriage is more of a “Show Business”
And while auditioning for “India Matchmaking” It was the first time  I got the answer to some of the question, which I always looked for.
“Why do people get married” – A Question which is never asked by the boy & girl who would be spending their life together.
What do I really look in a partner – The Answer to this question is always looking at a friends/ role model’s marriage and answering those points without looking into what the person is actually looking for?
Why haven’t you found anybody yet and why arranged marriage? – Maybe it truly is the fault in my stars.
And lastly, when the series streamed and I watched the complete series, none of the genders knew exactly what they were looking for in each other?
While the fascination for the west and international audience on the concept of “Arrange Marriage/ Matchmaking”  questioned them about the Indian culture of marriage in many ways, Why is our media shying away from admitting who we are actually?
Why is marriage so important? Today thank god. Marriage by some isn’t prioritised like a Goal or landmark. While for the others their only “Goal” is to be married not because they are “ready”, not because they have “connected” but rather because of the peer & family pressure that forces them not to question what marriage is? Why some question it too much and have high expectations, others just follow the checklist one should follow in a regular “Life”

What The Dog Saw by Malcolm Gladwell

What The Dog Saw by Malcolm Gladwell

Reading a Malcolm Gladwell after about two~three years and it was the title that interested me to read another one of Malcolm Gladwell. This is the 5th Book that I read from Malcolm and this one is as insightful as the previous ones But this has had more case studies that I could relate to personally after a long time and the writing style and the writing is similar to all his previous work – The Tipping Point, Blink, Outlier and David Goliath. Some of the case studies that I could relate to were the Heinz case studies & Prego case studies as these were both I had heard about a long time ago. Is Talent overrated and The Mind hunter we’re other case studies I could relate to. -As I had just watched Mindhunter on Netflix a couple of months ago so it was interesting to live so many stories again.

Garden of Eden by Ernest Hemingway

The Final novel by Ernest Hemingway, Which is believed to be an unfinished Work, for me a rather disappointing read.

The story is about Catherine involving herself & her husband David who is a writer in a strange, erotic triangle with another young woman – And we really never know why until a couple of chapters before the bookend.

This was one book – that was lying on my bookshelf for years and now that I was spending too much time at home and no books to read. I found another book that I was hoping to read “One Day” That day came last week and within a week, I was done reading the book. Maybe I picked the wrong “Hemingway Book” Maybe I had huge expectations. May Be I was just wanting to read a book and that’s why I chose “Garden of Eden”

The style of Hemingway Books are normally incomplete sentences, not too descriptive and just always giving us an outline, not many details of anything much – The setting, and the story takes too long to make you realise what is the actual story. Being my first, I still wanted to know if at all anything happens?

And yes they do, but it too late for that. Leaving the reader to think why did it take this long.

Maybe, Because I have read it today after so many years of it’s the publication and the Era that this story belongs, doesn’t really connect and hence maybe I haven’t enjoyed reading a book from one of the finest writers – Ernest Hemingway.

Kafka On The Shore By Murakami !

“Kafka on The Shore by Haruki Murakami”

“Kafka on The shore by Haruki Murakami”

Is the seventh or eighth book in the Murakami collection that I have read so far and Kafka on the shore has been one of the most enjoyable mysteries to unfold.

Murakami has stuck to his elements in his writing.

Cats, Painting and characters we want to know more about.

Though I read “Killing Commemorate” Last year, Before reading Kafka on the shore and though both were on the same lines. Kafka on the shore has been a breeze to read.

Like all the other Murakami books, Japan has always been a backdrop with every story and a new town or new side of the city is portrayed.

Kafka on the Shore is a story of Kafka Tamura, a fifteen-year-old boy who runs away from home to escape an awful oedipal prophecy, and Nakata, ageing and illiterate simpleton who has never completely recovered from a wartime affliction. Kafka’s journey brings him to a small private library in the provincial town of Takamatsu and to a mountain hideaway where the ordinary laws of time no longer apply. But, like Oedipus, the more Kafka tries to avoid his fate, the closer he comes to fulfilling it. Nakata also sets forth on a quest for an enigmatic entrance stone, the significance of which he does not understand. Intellectually ambitious, emotionally intense, and beautifully written.

Japan Made Easy by Sandeep Goyal

Japan Made Easy is one of the best books to know more about the Japanese lifestyle, Business Ethics, Culture, Spiritual and Food Habits and all these are shared by the Japanese words used to describe each situation or word. This makes the book an interesting read for anyone who wants to know more about Japan or the basics before they would be travelling or after they have travelled.

This book is split into eight sections with an average of ten chapters in each section.

The book also shares insights of  Japan through the years.

LOCKDOWN. DOWN UNDER HOUSE ARREST!!

Lockdown has made me realise, how much I am used to being by myself.

And how much, I enjoy it too.

Spending time exercising, reading books and watching movies,

Without having to unnecessary stare at my phone, when you around people as the interaction is hardly there.

I also observed, that how we humans have lost interacting with one another when we are face to face.  Your presence is on only felt when you upload a post on social media – you normally would respond or get a response to.

But, when you haven’t uploaded anything or don’t have anything to post – there are hardly any conversations taking place.

Would we be able to rediscover the art of having great conversations post this lockdown? Or will we fall, into our shells now that we have become comfortable with our own company? Or will we be longing to just get out and go back to what was normal before, how we were before lockdown and don’t want to change?

Will the simple thing that we always took for granted become more meaningful than ever or will they mean something to us?

Making your breakfast, Enjoying the Sunrise & Sunsets. Enjoying a home-cooked meal.

Would the present be our future- Working from our homes, Fewer colleagues in offices? Would retail stores turn into warehouses and just a couple of them would be open as retail stores? And shopping will only be done mostly online Would Salons, only be available through Appointments rather than unnecessary waiting for your turn? Would Schools & Colleges be only online..? Or Will doctors take appointments & meet patients online and only if critically serious (Emergency or have surgery the patient will be required to go to the hospital) Will we see print medium becoming obsolete and only digital magazines, E-Books and E-Newspaper available to read. (This would involve fewer people to print, Fewer people to distribute and reduction in maintenance. Books fewer copies could be printed, Newspaper just a few of them too and magazines can totally go digital.

Though all these will affect real estate commercial spaces – But, We would require fewer people in offices and hence so many offices wouldn’t be required. That would automatically reduce your overhead expenses and the same could be used in satisfying your employees & profits too.

But, Most importantly we would require our I.T infrastructure to improve with better internet connectivity around and stronger Mobile communication towers.

These changes will also affect the automobiles sector – But will keep Air pollution & congestion to a bare minimum, Which has been now with cleaner air & Clearer skies.

Restaurants & Cafes will be both delivery services & Walk in and going out will be an occasion and be social than ever before.

Cinema chains could create an app – where they have movies screening with the timing and if there are fewer seats sold for a particular time, that can be replaced by another movie and about *100 tickets per screening should be allowed. So if you have four screens – 250 capacity. 100 people per screening for each film.

Or they could start with a subscription-based model like the other streaming sites only for films & Movie Festivals.

Though this will impact the revenues of the films in some ways, anyways filmmaker sells the movie rights to streaming sites & broadcasting channels to premier it. And this way they anyway make money.

In the future anyways Small budget movies will be released on the OTT Platform and films with cinematic appeal with them will be released at cinema theatres.

Though with these changes there will be a rise in a lot of unemployment. But we all do have skills that would give us the digital platform to grow and make money – We all would be our own channel of content and earn money too through Monetising your channel.

These changes will create a new market for other Jobs that you never thought could exist. And at the same time will you be freer.

The Lockdown in some ways has questioned us – Are we humans really moving ahead or are we falling back behind and becoming like the Homo sapiens, we have originated from – Humans who would go hunting, Make food and sleep and repeat and did not have any leisure, luxuries that we humans consider to be “Normal” Like the Internet, Phone and the basics to live our life. Yes, we have come this far! But, how far have we come as individuals, and as people who did not always belong on earth? But, having been ruling ever since we realised we were the who can capitalise here on the earth, Where species moved freely. Who if you have noticed have taken over the streets and the nature once again presently.
