Is 16 really sweet for Indians in India ?

Was just browsing online for a thought on 16th birthday and felt that
16 is such a overrated birthday in India ,I mean if you are 16 here nothing changes .you just become a year older ,where as in the west ,16 is celebrated as a landmark birthday because you get your official driving license ,you are off to university and leaving your house to become much more independent ,where as in India you get the driver license at 18,get to vote at 18 and you are still quite dependent and not independent .
So is 16 really a landmark birthday for the Indians in India ? Or is it 18 that counts here .And 16 is considers sweet that it.

ORS-Officiating replay system

Umpires

Remember the UDRS-Umpire decision review system ?which was in the news for a while since It wasn’t accurate and the BCCI too was against the system , this was a while back ,and now in 2014 another technology advancement in the game is happening… the game might have ORS-Officiating replay system where there would be instant replay for non-match umpires ,this will allow the umpire to have more control over the replay he sees instead of depending on the replays provided to match umpires by the official broadcaster. This will not only give real-time replays but  other tech tools and total control over camera angles ,the system is intended to eliminate broadcaster bias ,speed up the Drs process and prevent howlers .This will only make the game better since The chosen official to provide the feedback for the ongoing Pak -lanka test ,simon taufel is working independently of the third umpire ,he receives 16 real time feeds from the match and also has a hawkeye engineer to assit him.the third umpire receives replays from the broadcaster in 30-40 seconds while taufel using ORS receives the signal in real time. But will this be accepted by BCCI and others since it will be expensive to adapt and many members  countries and broadcaster may not be willing to pay the extra cost.

Drones!!

Drone

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), also  known as drone, is an aircraft  without a human pilot on board. Its flight is controlled either autonomously by computers in the vehicle or with  the remote control   of a pilot on the ground or in another vehicle. The  launch and recovery method of an unmanned aircraft is by the function of an automatic system or an external operator on the ground.
They are usually deployed of military  and special operation applications, but also used in a small but growing number of civil applications, such as policing and firefighting , and nonmilitary security work, such as surveillance of pipelines. UAVs are often preferred for missions that are too “dull, dirty or dangerous” for manned aircraft.
The birth of U.S. UAVs (called RPVs at the time) began in 1959 when United States Air Force (USAF) officers, concerned about losing pilots over hostile territory, began planning for the use of unmanned  flights. This plan became intensified when  Francis Gary Powers and his “secret”U-2 were shot down over the Soviet Union  in 1960.
a UAV is defined as a “powered, aerial vehicle that does not carry a human operator, uses aerodynamic forces to provide vehicle lift, can fly autonomously or be piloted remotely, can be expendable or recoverable, and can carry a lethal or nonlethal payload
The only reason we need (UAVs) is that we don’t want to needlessly expend the man in the cockpit.
As a tool for search and rescue  , UAVs can help find humans lost in the wilderness, trapped in collapsed buildings, or adrift at sea.
including aerial surveying of crops, acrobatic aerial footage in filmmaking, search and rescue operations, inspecting power lines and pipelines, and counting wildlife, delivering medical supplies to remote or otherwise inaccessible regions, with some manufacturers rebranding  the technology as “unmanned aerial systems” (UASs) in preference over “drones.
In the private sector, Amazon.com  founder Jeff Bozos ‘ December 2013 announcement that Amazon is planning rapid delivery of lightweight commercial products using UAVs was met with skepticism, with perceived obstacles including federal and state regulatory approval, public safety, reliability, individual privacy, operator training and certification, security (hacking), payload thievery, and logistical challenges.
